"The church lives by missions like a fire lives by burning." Elton Trueblood

At First Baptist Church in Hondo, we believe that “missions” is not only a ministry of our church but the very reason for which our church exists.

In order to encourage our church members in an effective missions ministry as together we strive to fulfill the Great Commission in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Missions Ministry Team works to:

1. discover ways that God is working in our community, state, nation and world and to encourage our members to respond obediently and creatively as partners with God.

2. encourage our members to look beyond themselves toward a global vision of the Gospel and active participation in cooperative missions with other Great Commission churches and organizations.

3. encourage our members to attend national, regional, state and area gatherings that provide opportunities for encouragement, fellowship, inspiration, information and education related to church missions.

4. support other mission-minded groups that already are involved with missions education and activities within our church.
